Electroless Nickel Baton ADVANTAGE:
If you live in a high humidity environment, the Electroless Nickel
Baton is for you. No other commercially available metal finish approaches
the total corrosion resistance of Electroless Nickel.
Designed for industrial applications in a maritime environment, Electroless
provides increased surface hardness, lubrication and a matte finish. It will
not scratch, rust or wear. Electroless Batons have the appearance of stainless
steel.
Electroless Batons are well suited to maritime and other high humidity environments.
The nature of the finish simplifies maintenance. Electroless Batons give the
“quietly attractive” appearance of stainless steel. The matte finish
has an enhanced psychological advantage at night. They are the most maintenance-free
batons of all ASP models. The finish of the baton can be maintained through
use of a Scotch Brite® pad.
• Total corrosion protection
• Stainless steel appearance
• Increased surface hardness
• Ideal for maritime applications
4140 Steel
The Steel used in the ASP Electroless Baton is 4140 seamless steel tubing and
is not commercially available in the United States. Because of this, ASP must
have a special chemistry or “heat” of steel poured in Germany and
then pierced into rounds. This raw stock is then drawn by an American company
into tubing that is made to ASP specifications. ASP is the sole source of 4140
steel tubing for expandable batons. ASP 4140 is 25% stronger than more commonly
available 4130 tubing.
The Foam Vinyl Grip provides a firm, durable hold.
