Rotating SideBreak Scabbard Instructions

ASP Rotating SideBreak Scabbards employ advanced design and fabrication concepts in each unit. Cases are a benchmade blend of speed, concealability retention and safety. This scabbard is fashioned with same detail as the finest pistol holster. Our designs utilize strategically positioned lines of tension and zero tension areas. Each carrier incorporates premium polymer construction in a patented design. The result is a compact, inconspicuous and extremely effective carrier for your ASP Baton.

Secure your ASP Baton in the Rotating SideBreak Scabbard by placing the retracted baton tip down in the carrier. The spring steel retaining clip on the interior of the case will hold the baton in the scabbard without the necessity of a retaining strap. The baton may bind until the scabbard is broken in. A slight twist of your ASP Baton during removal will speed presentation.

Attach the scabbard to the belt employing the integral belt clip. This attachment device incorporates a sliding belt lock. The hex key enclosed on the back of the belt loop is used to adjust the lock. The double lock pin of your handcuff key can be used to dislodge the hex key.

Loosen
the screws on the belt lock with the hex key found in the belt loop or with the quad key available in the ASP Tactical tool kit.

Position the sliding lock tightly against the belt.

Re-tighten the screws.

Replace the hex key on the back side of the belt loop.

NOTE: Spare slide lock and back plate screws are included in pockets under the back plate inside the scabbard.

Position the ASP Tactical Scabbard on the Reaction Side (opposite the firearm) for presentation witht he Reaction Hand. The tip of the baton should be down.

Stand in an interview Stance with your weight equally distributed, the Reaction Side forward, the Weapon Side back and covered.

To assure a smooth presentation when removing the baton from your Rotating Sidebreak, press the grip to the back of the scabbard and lift straight up.

NOTE; Drawing the baton at an angle away from the body may cause it to bind in the case.

When the baton clears the scabbard, grasp the ASP Baton with your Strong Hand. Present the baton straight upward or downward in a snapping motion to lock it in an open position.

Replace the ASP Baton straight down into the Rotating Sidebreak. It wil drop approximately one third of the way into the scabbard. Release the grip. Place the heel of the hand on the cap and press straight down. Replace the baton in the scabbard at an angle may cause the grip to bind on the inside of the case and roll back.

Expanded batons may be carried in the Rotating SideBreak Scabbard. Place the baton in the case. A slight push on the grip will force the tip through the bottom of the case. The baton may be carried with both shafts extended below the scabbard. To present the baton ,raise the grip of the ASP Baton until it clears the case. Then break the baton out of the case side.

Repair of an ASP Scabbard will be completed by the factory or one of our Authorized Service Centers. Cases should be returned to a Service Center or sent to the factory with a letter of explanation.
